The Singing Body: The Art of Spontaneity

Free Your Voice, Move Your Body, Ignite Your Song

You are invited to a playful & collaborative journey into vocal and somatic expression. Through Feldenkrais, other somatic warm-ups, creative movement, and collaborative vocal improv inspired by Vocal River and circle singing, we bridge body and voice in a space of exploration and joy. Guided by experienced songleaders and somatic facilitators, you'll dance with rhythm, melody, and harmony—in your body, in pairs, and as a group. Everything is an invitation, not an obligation. Whether you're weaving spontaneous songs or closing the night around a glowing campfire, this is a space to awaken your full, free voice.

  • Paris Kern

Paris Kern (she, her) is a vocalist and musician deeply rooted in traditional folk music, with a lifelong commitment to exploring the voice as a powerful instrument of expression. In 2011, her musical path expanded when she studied with Bobby McFerrin and was introduced to Circle Singing—a vibrant, improvised form of choral music where singers create spontaneous harmonies, rhythms, and textures using only the voice and body. Whether following or leading, Circle Singing is an accessible and exhilarating way to connect musically in the moment.

Paris brings decades of experience as a performing singer to her workshops, where music-making is always at the heart. Participants engage in collaborative improvisation, solo exploration, and ensemble singing, expanding their vocal range, creativity, and musical confidence.

A certified Feldenkrais® Practitioner for over 35 years, Paris integrates movement and awareness into her music work—not as an add-on, but as a vital tool for unlocking vocal freedom. Through Feldenkrais-inspired techniques, musicians gain physical and emotional ease that directly enhances their tone, breath, and presence.

Her workshops weave together group singing, individual coaching, improvisation, and movement, offering a rich experience for musicians of all levels—from seasoned professionals to passionate amateurs. Every session is grounded in music-making, with the goal of helping singers discover more joy, authenticity, and connection in their sound.
